Acupuncture shows effectiveness for tinnitus

What is tinnitus?

Tinnitus is a ringing or high pitched buzzing sound in the head or ears. It often is fairly constant, and it can be debilitating if the condition is severe. At the least, lack of quality sleep and problems with concentration will tend to wear on anyone suffering from tinnitus.

How does the acupunture treatment work?

The treatment starts with a plan to treat the body in a holistic manner. This approach will allow for each area of the body that is associated with the tinnitus to be healed. For many people this has proven to be incredibly successful. The treatment itself includes inserting needles mainly into pressure points of the arms, neck and head. This helps to balance out the neck area which tends to be subjected too much stress. This procedure calms the entire head and neck area and subsequently calms the nerves associated with hearing sensations.

Which results can be expected?

In many cases a reduction of loudness of the tinnitus can be reached, increasing the quality of life.
